Data Protection & GDPR
Schools hold data on all their pupils, which they and others use for a variety of purposes. This page makes available to parents and pupils information on which organisations have access to this data and what they use it for.
Organisations with access to information on pupils, such as schools, Local Authorities, the Department for Education, are all “data controllers” under the Data Protection Act 1998. They determine the purposes for which “personal data” (i.e. data about living individuals, from which they can be identified) is processed, and the way in which that processing is done.
Please see our Policies page to review our Data Protection Policy.
It is important to us that your personal data remains up-to-date and relevant. Please contact us at support@abercarnprimary.org to update your details, edit your consent agreement or to perform a Subject Access Request

Who processes your information?
Abercarn Primary School is the data controller of the personal information you provide to us. This means that the school determines the purposes for which, and the manner in which, any personal data relating to students and their families is to be processed.
In some cases, your data will be outsourced to a third party processor; however, this will only be done with your consent, unless the law requires the school to share your data. Where the school outsources data to a third party processor, the same data protection standards that the school upholds are imposed on the processor. We do not share information about our pupils with anyone without consent unless the law and our policies allow us to do so.
