Our School Anthem
Our School Anthem
A short while ago, our Criw Cymraeg worked with Bronwen Lewis (the new host of BBC Radio Wales' morning show) to create a unique school anthem for Abercarn Primary blending both the English and Welsh language. The sound clip is below. Children are learning this with the Criw Cymraeg in Welsh assemblies. Please have a listen and learn the anthem with your child at home.
Walk with us, hand is hard, across the Ebbw River,
In the distance you will see, a place we’ll love forever,
Croeso mawr i bob un, everyone is welcome,
To Abercarn, our primary, the owl is our emblem,
Here you'll see some happy faces,
From so many different places,
Good to be green's what we say,
Learning new things every day!
We are all one family,
Take pride in what we do,
Don’t say I can’t, I can’t yet,
One day we'll see it through,
Sharing's caring, always helping,
Gyda’n ffrindiau ni,
Ysgol Abercarn, Dyma ni!
Confident, a hapus iawn, enthusiastic children,
Healthy veggies, healthy fruits, eat them to defeat them,
Celebrate the different cultures in the world around us,
Feeling grateful, feeling safe, when I see the school bus!
Here you'll see some happy faces,
From so many different places,
Good to be green's what we say,
Learning new things every day!
We are all one family,
Take pride in what we do,
Don’t say I can’t, I can’t yet,
One day we'll see it through,
Sharing's caring, always helping,
Gyda’n ffrindiau ni,
Ysgol Abercarn, Dyma ni!
5 playgrounds to roam free,
4 Senedd roles for me,
3 cooks that keep us fed,
2 leaders act as head,
And one to one, with Mrs Rowlands,
To help us through our day,
She always listens to what we have to say
We are all one family,
Take pride in what we do,
Don’t say I can’t, I can’t yet,
One day we'll see it through,
Sharing's caring, always helping,
Gyda’n ffrindiau ni,
Ysgol Abercarn, Dyma ni!
