Have you ever wondered how we hear music or see colours? Sound and light are everywhere! They help us communicate, explore, and understand the world. Let’s learn about how sound and light work! 🔦🎼

Sound is made when things vibrate (move back and forth quickly). These vibrations travel in sound waves through air, water, and even solid objects!

✔ You hear sound with your ears. 👂

✔ Loud sounds have big vibrations. 🔉

✔ Soft sounds have small vibrations. 🤔

✔ Sound moves through air at 343 metres per second! 🚀

Did you know? 🤔 Sound cannot travel in space because there’s no air! 

1️⃣ Something vibrates (like a guitar string). 🎸

2️⃣ The vibrations travel through the air as sound waves. 🌬️

3️⃣ Our ears catch the waves and send signals to the brain. 🧠

4️⃣ Our brain understands the sound – like music, speech, or a barking dog! 🐶

Try This!   Put your Fingers on your throat and hum – can you feel the vibrations?

Some sounds are loud, and some are soft. This is called volume.

🔉 Loud sounds – Fireworks, sirens, shouting!🚒🎇

🤔 Soft sounds – Whispering, a cat purring, rustling leaves.🐱🍂

Too much loud noise can hurt your ears, so be careful with headphones and loudspeakers! 🎧

Light lets us see! It travels in straight lines as light waves.

✔ The Sun is our biggest source of natural light. ☀️

✔ Light travels really fast – about 300,000 km per second! 🚀

✔ Light bounces off objects and into our eyes, so we can see. 👀

✔ Some objects give off light (like bulbs), while others reflect light (like mirrors). 🪞

Did you know? 🤔 The Moon doesn’t make its own light – it reflects light from the Sun! ☀️

1️⃣ Light shines from a source (like the Sun or a lamp).

2️⃣ It reflects off objects and into our eyes.

3️⃣ Our eyes send signals to the brain.

4️⃣ Our brain understands what we see!

That’s why we see everything around us! 🌍✨

Some light is bright, and some is dim.

☀️ Bright light – The Sun, a torch, or Fireworks!  🎇

🌙  Dim light – A candle, night-lights, or the stars. ✨

Too much bright light can hurt your eyes, so never stare at the Sun! 😎

Have you ever seen a rainbow?🌈  Light is actually made of different colours!

When light passes through a raindrop or a prism, it splits into these colours! ✨
