WELCOME BACK

I hope everyone had a lovely half term break! I hope everyone is refreshed and looking forward to another busy term!

PARENT EVENING APPOINTMENTS

Parent evening appointment letters were sent home last week. Apologies to those parents who were quick off the mark and tried straight away only to find it was not working – I had forgotten to click open on the system.  Parent evenings are week beginning Monday 6th March 2017. If you have any difficulties, please contact the school office and they will provide assistance. Appointments are 10 minutes.  THE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM HAS NOW BEEN LOCKED SO ALL APPOINTMENTS NEED TO BE BOOKED VIA SCHOOL OFFICE.

ST DAVID’S DAY and WORLD BOOK DAY

St David’s Day – Wednesday 1st March 2017 – Welsh costume / Theme / Rugby Shirts etc can be worn to school – We will be taking photographs for South Wales Argus and will use the permissions we have on file.

World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March 2017 – Children can dress as their favourite book character for the day!

SAINSBURY VOUCHERS (25th January to 30th June 2017)

We are collecting Sainsbury Active Kids Vouchers. Please send in any vouchers. Last year we purchased scooters for the Nursery and PE equipment for the whole school by using the vouchers. There is a collection box in the foyer area of the school. Your support is greatly appreciated!

REMINDER – YEAR 6 – WINGS TO FLY

Year 6 are going to Wings to Fly next Monday! All permission slips have been received! No money is required and children will have lunch on their return to school.

COMIC RELEIF

Comic Relief is on Friday 24th March 2017. Children will be able to wear non-uniform / comic relief merchandise. Usually Sainsbury will be in school to sell merchandise – we will let you know if this is happening again this year!

SCHOOL DINNERS

This week is week 2. There will be a special menu on Wednesday this week for St. David’s Day.

Lamb and Mint Sausage with Yorkshire Pudding and Gravy or Vegemince Pie (V). Oven Baked Crispy Roast Potatoes, Mashed/Boiled Potatoes, Broccoli, Sliced Leeks and Baton Carrots.  Then Chocolate Mousse Slice or Fruit.

WELSH PHRASE OF WEEK

Please try and use this phrase as much as possible for this week! If you struggle saying it ask someone to help you or go onto our Facebook / Twitter to hear the phrase!

MARIE CURIE DAFFODIL APPEAL

We are selling daffodils in school in aid of Marie Curie.  Daffodils can be purchased for £1.00 from Head Boy and Head Girl or school office.
