PARENT EVENING APPOINTMENTS

Parent evening appointment letters are coming home with this newsletter. Parent evenings are week beginning Monday 6th March 2017. Please book online. If you have any difficulties, please contact the school office and they will provide assistance. Appointments are for 10 minutes only!!  Please double check appointments are being made with the correct teacher.

CULTURE DAY, ST DAVID’S DAY and WORLD BOOK DAY

Culture Day is on Friday 17th February 2017 – Our focus will be South Africa. We have South African Dance workshops throughout the day and children will be learning about various traditions and culture. Children can wear anything related to South Africa. This may be simply the colours of the South African Flag – Red, White, Blue, Green, Yellow and Black or something more extreme – your choice!

St David’s Day – Wednesday 1st March 2017 – Welsh costume / Theme / Rugby Shirts etc can be worn to school – We will be taking photographs for South Wales Argus & will use the permissions we have on file.

World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March 2017 – Children can dress as their favourite book character for the day!

SAINSBURY VOUCHERS (25th January to 30th June 2017)

We are collecting Sainsbury Active Kids Vouchers. Please send in any vouchers. Last year we purchased scooters for the Nursery and PE equipment for the whole school by using the vouchers. There is a collection box in the foyer area of the school. Your support is greatly appreciated!

HALF TERM

School finishes for Half Term on Friday – school reopens on Monday 27th February 2017

BREAKFAST CLUB

Please ensure children are handed over to Breakfast Club staff at the door. There is always a member of breakfast club staff at the door if it is closed in bad weather.

WELSH PHRASE OF WEEK

Please try and use this phrase as much as possible for this week! If you struggle saying it ask someone to help you or go onto our Facebook / Twitter to hear the phrase!

LUNCHBOXES/SNACKS

Could parents please refrain from putting nuts/nut products in lunchboxes or snack pots.  We have a few children in school with a nut allergy.
