Some things that Governors discussed at the meeting in February 2019:
Electronic Payment System
• Governors requested an update on when the electronic payment system will go live. Governors were informed that the live date will be 18th March 2019. This will allow parents to be registered and training to be undertaken.
• The Headteacher presented the Categorisation Report to the Governors. The school is categorised as a GREEN school for the 2nd year running. The Headteacher provided an overview of standards and the capacity of the school to improve and support others. Governors are extremely pleased with the report and congratulated the Headteacher and staff for their continued hard work and effort.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE)
• Governors received training regarding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). Mrs Harry led the training informing Governors what ACEs are, what impact they have on pupils and services and what can be done as a school to support Adverse Childhood Experiences. Governors found this training beneficial and thanked Mrs Harry for her hard work with delivering training to Governors and also school staff.
School Council and Eco Council
• Members of both the School Council and Eco Council presented to the Governing Body. The children explained what they do and described some activities and decisions they have made. Children presented extremely well and were praised by the Governors. It gave Governors a good insight into what happens in school on a daily basis and the decisions children are involved in.
Look out for the next Governors Blog towards the end of March 2019.
