PARENT EVENINGS

Our first parent evenings of the year will be on Monday 7th October 2019 and Wednesday 9th October 2019. The online booking system will close tomorrow.

PARENT SURVEY

Please take some time to complete our Parent Survey. Your views are important. It is lovely to receive positive feedback and we do our best to take action on any areas for development. HARVEST COLLECTION

Our annual Harvest celebration will be on Friday 25th October 2019. Once again, we will be collecting items to donate to the local food bank in order to support the local community. Please send in items for the food bank. Thank you! At the moment, urgently required items are:

·       Tinned fruit (400gms)

·       Tea bags (80's)

·       Dried pasta (500gms)

·       UHT milk (1 litre)

·       Breakfast Cereals


REMINDER: NUT FREE SCHOOL

Please remember we are a “nut free” school. We have several pupils with serious allergies to nuts. Please do not send in any nuts for snacks or lunch.

 

PARIS TRIP – MAY 2021 (CURRENT YEAR 4 AND YEAR 5)

We are proposing taking a group of children from the current year 4 and 5 to Paris in 2021. If you are interested in your child attending, then please contact the school office and book yourself into the meeting with Mr Perry on Wed 2nd October.


POLICE

Police will be patrolling outside the school before and after school this week. Please park considerately and legally. Please feel free to say hello to PC Darren Morgan and his team.

SPECIAL MENU

Tuesday (1st October) there will be a special menu to celebrate BRITISH FOOD FORTNIGHT,  the menu will be LAMB MEATBALLS or VEGETABLE GRILL served with CHEESE PASTA or CURLY FRIES, BROCCOILI/SALAD/PEAS.  Dessert will be FROZEN STRAWBERRY YOGHURT or FRUIT PORTION or FRUIT AND ICE CREAM with a choice of CHOCOLAE MILKSHAKE or MILK or WATER

SCHOOL CLUBS / SPORTS

School clubs for this year have now started. Mr Perry will be co-ordinating all school clubs, tournaments and school trips this year and will be the point of contact if parents need to talk about clubs or trips!

 

MACMILLAN COFFEE AFTERNOON

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our MACMILLAN coffee afternoon on Friday. Our Criw Cymraeg were also around mingling with parents. We’ve raised well over £250, and the money is still rolling in so we’ll update you in the week with the final total - Thank you!


SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2019-2020

Following self-evaluation and input from staff, pupils and parents the following main priorities have been agreed and approved by the Governing Body for 2019-2020. Full detailed actions can be found on our school website and are available in the school foyer.

1: Continue to improve numeracy and maths performance across the school.

2: Continue to raise standards of Literacy throughout the school.

3: Continue to raise the profile and standards of Welsh 2nd Language throughout the school.

4: To continue to raise standards of Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Competence throughout the school and begin to prepare for Curriculum Reform in 2022

ATTENDANCE

It is important for children to attend school regularly. We will be chasing parents if pupils have attendance of below 95% and will be contacting the Education Welfare Officer if pupils are not punctual and attendance drops below 90%. Our attendance target for this year is 95% - Attendance forms part of the categorisation criteria of schools – Please help us to achieve well!
