HEALTHY SCHOOL LUNCHES
We are working very hard in school to promote healthy eating and healthy lifestyles and we would very much appreciate as much support as possible from parents and, therefore, I would like to suggest the following:
SANDWICH BOX CONTENTS
• No sweets in school lunch boxes e.g. lollipops, boiled sweets, jelly sweets etc. Chocolate bars are acceptable in moderation.
• An item included that contributes towards the “Five a Day” recommendation – piece of fruit, fruit bar etc
These two suggestions will go some way towards promoting healthy eating and lifestyles for our pupils.
NEW CASHLESS DINNER SYSTEM
Please remember to ensure credit is on the Cashless System
Our Cashless system is now live for School Dinners.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN CASH / CHEQUES FOR SCHOOL DINNERS.
Please consider using the auto top-up function to save you and us time and effort. Minimum top-up amount is £10; please note though that any credit added will remain with your child for the duration of their time at our school. WHEN YOUR CHILD LEAVES THE SCHOOL, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE UNDER £20 ON YOUR UPAY ACCOUNT, YOU WILL GET A FULL REFUND. Huge thank you to parents for making the transition so easy and for your favourable comments.
PRICE OF SCHOOL MEALS WILL RISE FROM THE 1ST OF APRIL
The council have informed us that from the 1st of April the cost of a school meal will be £2.10. Therefore, please remember for week commencing the 1st of April to top up by £10.50 and not just £10.00. This can be done by tapping the ‘other’ top up tab and entering £10.50.
PTA EASTER RAFFLE
Tickets are on sale from today (25th March), the tickets are £1 each. If you wish to purchase any then please send the money into the class with your child. The teachers will be selling the tickets.
CHICK KNITS IN AID OF VELINDRE
We have a number of knitted chicks including chocolate egg for sale in the office priced at £1.00 in aid of Velindre Hospital, please call in and buy one.
AXIOM TRIP – YEAR 5 – 2ND APRIL
Please send in your form and monies as soon as possible if you haven’t already. All children will be given a cooked meal at the factory canteen. There is a fantastic range of food on offer and this tends to be the highlight for the children, this is provided with no cost to you.
Please make sure that your child has their snack money enveloped separately and given to them to take into class (other than reception who put all monies in the black box). If you submit snack money together with other money (trip etc) then the money is unlikely to make it to the class in time for Monday break.
This week is Menu 1
