Please ensure you park appropriately especially in the car park outside school and on the housing estate over the bridge. Please ensure there is space for the school bus and children / adults are able to cross roads safely! Many Thanks

We now have Little Stars Abercarn wraparound provision available at school until 3.30pm – anyone interested , please contact Kelly Podmore on 07541 134564 or call and see her between 11.30-3.30pm. They are based in our Nursery building!  We would also like to find out whether there would be demand for after school provision until 5.30pm – available to all children attending Abercarn Primary. The cost would be £6 per session and it would be available Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. If you are interested, please contact Kelly!

** We will be attending the Cluster football league on 3rd Oct and 7th Nov 2016 at Risca Comprehensive

Last year, we offered Foundation Phase Sports on a Monday, I am hoping this will be running again and I am in the process of arranging this with the provider - Further details will follow.

I’ve also asked Caerphilly to provide further details regarding trained sports coaches from the Secondary School. If parents can offer any help or constructive advice/ guidance I would be grateful!

Last year we attended the football cluster league, Mini Olympics at Cwmcarn and Athletics at NIAC. We also put forward Netball and Football teams for the Round Table events even though they were cancelled!

Our Radio Studio was installed over the summer and the children are busy training and practicing. They are really enjoying it! It exploits all areas of the curriculum and children are very enthusiastic. We will officially launch our station soon – a little bit of time is needed for children to get to know the controls and timings etc. Parents can be involved as much as possible too!

I am a little disappointed that during our practice runs; some parents are not so enthusiastic and may see this as taking away from a healthy lifestyle. Every playtime, all children can participate in active games from purposeful active play in the Foundation Phase to ball games on the yard and astro turf! Our radio station will also contribute to pupil well-being and builds confidence and positive attitudes – this also contributes to healthy living!

We have had to alter the date of our annual Macmillan Coffee / Tea and cake afternoon  this will now be on THURSDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER. Please join us for a drink and cake to raise funds for Macmillan from 2.30pm.

We will also have drop in sessions and demonstrations for Abacus Maths at Home Learning and Read Write Inc.

This week is Menu 3
