I hope everyone has had a good week! You will no doubt be aware that outside the school gates in the morning it is now organised into areas for you to wait and queue (if needed) – please stand in the correct area and please remember social distancing. Thank you to everyone for helping make things work – I understand it is difficult and different - I appreciate everyone working together.
As you are aware Caerphilly is in a local lock down. Coronavirus laws have been tightened across Caerphilly Borough to prevent a local outbreak of the virus spreading, Please remember the new restrictions:
- People will not be allowed to enter or leave the Caerphilly County Borough Council area without a reasonable excuse;
- Everyone over 11 will be required to wear face coverings in indoor areas;
- People will only be able to meet outdoors – meetings with other people indoors and extended households will not be allowed for the time being. No overnight stays will be allowed.
You may see staff wearing face coverings or visors around school. I have encouraged staff to wear visors when teaching and additionally to wear face coverings in communal areas where they are unable to safely maintain a 2m distance. The visors are completely transparent so pupils can see faces etc. I am in no doubt you will agree it is extremely important to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Reception starts full time this week.
Drop off – You will walk down the school drive, through the astro turf and down to the Reception garden area to drop off your child at the gate. You will then continue around in front of the school on the one way system.
Collection – You will walk down the school drive, through the astro turf and down to wait outside the Reception Class garden area. Please spread out when waiting. When you have collected your child, walk around in front of the school on the one way system.
We will be going ahead with school photographs on 23rd September 2020. Please note we will only be taking individual photographs. We will not be taking sibling photographs as this could potentially allow mixing of groups.
