School Reopening Tour September 2020
Face CoveringsAs promised here is an update regarding face coverings. As always we will follow Public Health Wales and Welsh Government advice. Revised Welsh Government guidance will make clear that face coverings will not be required for primary school children. Chief Medical Officer advice is that It is not necessary to wear face coverings in the classroom as protective measures already mean the risks are lower. Face coverings can inhibit learning and may also encourage children to touch their face more. Children will not be moving around the school or passing in corridors and will not be mixing with others outside their contact groups. Adults within school may need to wear face coverings / visors in situations whereby 2m social distancing cannot be achieved. We have procedures in place for safely removing and storing face coverings e.g. if children have worn a mask on their way to school.
